Alyx Davies ‘17, from Columbus, Ohio, can be seen around campus sporting her unique and colorful style. Davies is an education major and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and here she spills about all things style related. “Clothes are supposed to be true to you,” says Davies.
Q. Who do you consider your fashion icons?
A. I don’t really have one. I follow my own style, but I really like Kristen Stewart, Taylor Swift, and Selena Gomez.
Q. So, how would you describe your style then?
A. Individualistic, maybe young and contemporary. I love Betsey Johnson earrings and quirky stuff that’s mismatched or unusual. Having a mom in the jewelry business helps too. My mom is a gemologist who works with 18th and 19th century jewelry. As for stores, I love Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Savvy (a boutique in Columbus’ Short North), and 3 Boutique in Powell. I also love Free People and Desigual.
Q. What trends are you currently loving and what spring trend are you most excited for?
A. A favorite trend is all the fun printed pants and jeans going on right now, matching the patterns with loose sweaters. The company 7 For All Mankind has very cute pants. For spring, I am most excited to wear strappy sandals and bright colors. Flowy tops are cute too.
