Three suspects were arrested on March 26 for breaking into vehicles outside of campus in the village. Denison students were let aware of this on March 26 via a DU Alert in the form of text messages and emails sent to all subscribed members of the Denison community.

The three suspects broke into about 20 vehicles, none of which have been reported to belong to Denison students. Daniel Hect, director of campus safety, said that all the cars that were broken into were left unlocked.

Although none of the vehicles belonged to Denison students, the Campus Safety department sent out a mass alert to the Denison community just in case any cars had been broken into on campus or any cars belonged to members of the community.

Hect advised all students to remember to keep their doors locked, whether their cars are parked on campus or off campus. If any student’s car was broken into on March 26, please contact Campus Safety as soon as possible to report the incident.
