Denison’s winter sports teams finished the season with an extensive array of individual honors and team achievements.

Denison’s men’s swim and dive team won the NCAA Division III Championships, which marks their first national title since 2019.

16 athletes earned First Team All-American honors, 15 earned second-team All-American honors, and five relays also earned first-team honors.

The Big Red won by a margin of 140 points, which is the second largest margin between first and second in program history.

Coach Gregg Parini has also been named the Division III Men’s Swimming Coach of the Year for the sixth time in his coaching career.

The men’s team also took first in the NCAC conference meet. Nick Fogle ‘26 received the Diver of the Year award while George Goins ‘28 won the Newcomer of the Year award. Additionally, the men’s program won Swimming Coaching Staff of the Year and Diving Coaching Staff of the Year.  

The women’s swim and dive team ended their season with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Division III championship meet.

Denison had eight individuals earn First Team All-American honors, two earn Second Team All-American honors. One relay race also earned first-team honors.

The Big Red also took second place at the NCAC conference meet, where they were awarded the Diving Coaching Staff of the Year award, and Kerstyn Johnson ‘25 took home the Diver of the Year award.

The men’s basketball team ended the season 24-4 overall and 14-2 in the NCAC. The team won their first NCAC regular season championship, in addition to winning the NCAC conference tournament for the second time in team history.

The Big  Red also had three players named to All-NCAC teams.

Ricky Radtke ‘25 was named First Team All-NCAC. Radtke led the conference in field goal percentage (0.636) and was second on the team in points per game (12.2). 

Trevor Reed ‘27 was named Second Team All-NCAC, leading the team with 305 points and most free throws made (85). Reed was also second on the team for rebounds per game (4.0).

Darren Rubin ‘25 was named Third Team All-NCAC, leading the team with 12.7 points per game and 2.4 assists.

Denison women’s basketball finished the season with a 15-11 overall record and an 8-6 conference record.

Abby Cooch ‘27 earned First Team All-NCAC honors, leading the team in scoring (12.7 points per game), rebounding (6.8), assists (4.9) and steals (2.2). Cooch was the conference leader in minutes played (939) and third in the conference in assists per game. 

Abigail Westmeyer ‘25 was named Third Team All-NCAC. Westmeyer was second on the team in scoring (11.2) and rebounding (6.2).

In their third year as a part of the Liberty League conference, eight athletes from the women’s squash team were named to All-Liberty League teams. 

Charlotte Jones ‘28 was named the Liberty League Player of the Year for the 2024-25 season given her dominant performance in the number-one position, ending her first season with the Big Red with an 11-2 record.  She was also one of four individuals to earn All-Liberty League First Team honors. 

Amelia Keng ‘28 and Antoinette Ramsey ‘28 also earned First Team All-Liberty League honors. Four members of the Denison women’s squash team were named to the All-Liberty League Second Team: Lane Harding ‘26, Tess Lanza ‘28, Maddie Ruggie ‘28, and Charlotte Sigg ‘25.

Coach Michael MacDonald was also named to Liberty League’s Coaching Staff of the Year after leading the team to a 13-7 overall record and helping Denison reach its highest-ever national ranking at No. 23.

Men’s squash finished the season with an overall record of 8-9 while finishing fourth in the Liberty League Championship. 

The Big Red also earned the most All-Liberty League honors in program history.

Juan Felipe Hernandez ‘26 and Lucas Piller ‘25 were both named to the All-Liberty League First Team. Hernandez was 15-2 overall in position one.

Piller ended his season with an overall record of 6-12 in position three.

Charlie Fenwick ‘27 and Tarun Mammen ‘25 were named to the All-Liberty League Second Team, while Jackson Bragman ‘27 and Alex DeLuca ‘28 earned honorable mentions.

Denison’s women’s fencing was ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division III. Four fencers earned Division III honors. Corvus Endo ‘27 received both All-Region Honorable Mention And All-Region Division III. Delaney Brown ‘26, Velma Hall ‘26, and Maggie Zhu ‘26 were also named All-Region Division III.  

The Big Red indoor track and field team ended their season with the men finishing third and the women taking fourth at the NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Ari Skolnik ‘25 and Chris Slater ‘25 qualified for the NCAA Division III Championship and were both named NCAA Second Team All-Americans. 

Skolnik placed 15th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.16 seconds while Slater finished 13th in weight throw after throwing a distance of 18.26m. Both individuals ended the season as Great Lakes All-Region student-athletes, and Slater was named NCAC Field Athlete of the Year.
