The Denisonian compiles relevant call records and incident reports from the Granville Police Department.
On October 24 at 10:45 p.m., police arrived at Smith Hall to assist medics with an alcohol overdose. Upon arrival, officers witnessed the male student in question fighting with medics. The student was placed in handcuffs and escorted to the ambulance to be transported to Licking Memorial Hospital for treatment. En route to the ambulance, the student shoved a Denison Security officer on the scene. Once in the ambulance, the student attacked a medic from Granville Twp. Fire Department, biting him on the hand. The student was charged with assault and the underage consumption of alcohol.
On October 30 at 9:43 p.m., police arrived at Crawford Hall to assist Denison Security. Security informed police that they had detected the smell of marijuana emanating from the room of a male student. Upon confronting the student, the student had handed over a marijuana cigarette and rolling papers to Security. Security had also found a trash bag containing marijuana and a pill bottle beneath the student’s window. Police spoke to the student in his room, where they discovered a gallon-size ziploc bag full of marijuana. The student was placed under arrest and issued a summons to appear in Granville Mayor’s Court for the possession of a controlled substance.
