Spring 2016 has so far seen the induction of five new faculty members to Denison’s Student Development office. The new staff are Cameron Morrison ‘06, Elizabeth Morrison ‘06, Kati Bear, Anthony Dillard and Heather Borland.
Originally from Sidney, Ohio, Borland has joined the team at Whisler. She has worked in the area of student affairs for 16 years, including wellness programming, leadership development, clubs and organizations and social and community service programs.
“I truly enjoy working with students and believe peer-to-peer education is very important and imperative in creating a positive, healthy college environment,” Borland said.
“I would like to bring a holistic wellness approach to the Denison University student experience.”
Borland holds a BA in psychology and sports science from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Master’s in exercise physiology from Ohio University.
She has also coached track and field and cross country at Otterbein University.
Cameron Morrison and his wife Elizabeth arrived on campus Monday, having traveled from Texas A&M. Cameron worked as the Chapter Operations Specialist and Interfraternity Council Advisor, as well as conducting educational workshops and sessions on sexual violence, consent, Title IX and bystander intervention.
He was also the co-chair of a men’s intuitive focused on examining and combatting attitudes related to sexual violence and unhealthy definitions of masculinity.
