Denison Football faced off against No. 7 Linfield under the lights on Sept. 9 at Deeds Field-Piper Stadium in the first home game of their 2023 campaign, where they ultimately lost by a score of 28-14.  A 41-yard pass touchdown from quarterback Jimmy Stines ‘23 to fifth-year receiver Josh Aiello in the first quarter gave them an early lead,  though two touchdowns to close out the first half by the Wildcats placed the Big Red into a deficit that they could not surmount for the remainder of the game. Trey Fabrocini ‘23 made it 21-14 with a two-yard toucdown run in the third quarter to put them within a posession, but an immediate answer by Linfield on their next drive and a scoreless fourth quarter solified the final result. The loss is the first of the season for Denison and now sits them at 1-1 after two weeks.  They will head back onto the road and look to bounce back with a matchup against Oberlin in Oberlin, OH on Sept. 16.
