Students reunited with families, explored career options and networked with alumni during Big Red Weekend, which took place Sept. 25-27. Big Red Weekend resulted in hundreds of alumni of all classes, professions and backgrounds to return home.

They were able to put their professional talents to use in different events such as career roundtable discussions sponsored by the Career Exploration Center. Students shared information on obtaining useful internships, and the process to plan for life after Denison. Parents and alumni who were practicing law gave information on their alma maters, such as St. Johns and Ohio State schools of law.

They advised students of all interests to go with the flow, and not stress about postgraduate plans. There were also career tables for careers in education, STEM, finance, business and more available for students. This was filled with several exciting events.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. celebrated their 30th reunion. In this gathering, brothers and affiliates reunited and discussed new successes in their post Denison careers.

While there were several organizational meetings, there was also traditional family time. Students took to the streets of Granville, Newark and Columbus to enjoy food, shopping and other familial luxuries.

The Hill was filled with smiling faces, active children and new faces. In addition to all the activities on campus, the Varsity Association partook in their hall of fame induction ceremony where special guests, family and students gathered to watch history in the making.

Outstanding athletes were rewarded for their hard work and skill sets.

This weekend also hosted the famous Big Red Jubilee, where alumni, parents, faculty and students were able to mingle and network, while sharing interesting facts about themselves, and learning about others.  On Saturday night, students were able to enjoy a party hosted by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., while mingling with current and graduate students.

Conclusively, Big Red weekend ended with big hugs, and sweet goodbyes as students parted ways with their families, and prepared to return to school work. This weekend was filled with career exploration, networking and reuniting
