Meats, cheeses and crackers became the ingredients for a friendly competition on Sept. 15 as members of Charcuterie Club gathered for their second meeting and worked in teams to create the best charcuterie board.
John Quello ‘29, started Charcuterie Club last semester in April.
“What motivated me to start the Charcuterie Club was my hope to create a space where everyone feels welcome and comfortable. Charcuterie boards provide the perfect opportunity for people to try new things and make connections they might not have otherwise made. In this way, Charcuterie boards perfectly embody the values of a liberal arts education,” Quello said.
“My favorite part of Charcuterie Club is how so many people come together and we’re all like individual ingredients on a charcuterie board. There were definitely more people at this meeting than the last,” said August Kantor ’29, who attended both club meetings.
Justin Nunez ‘29 is the club vice president and also helped organize the event.
“This meeting went really well! I was really happy to see just how many people were interested in the charcuterie. Everyone was really collaborative and receptive to ideas,” said Nunez.
At the end of the meeting one group is announced the winner, and then everyone eats from the boards.
“Our first meeting this semester was like honey on a sunrise. I am ecstatic to see so much interest in the club and our next meeting will be even bigger and better than this one,” said Quello.
